When it comes to social media, building a steady increase in loyal followers is ideal. The purpose is to create a platform that comes across as trustworthy for the product or service you’re delivering while being consistent. Once a brand has gained that on their social media platforms, the next step is to partner with an influencer to increase sales and awareness, in other words, influencer marketing.

According to Sproutsocial, “Influencer marketing works because of the high amount of trust that social influencers have built up with their following, and recommendations from them serve as a form of social proof to your brand’s potential customers.”

Having an influencer working with you can affect others’ purchase decisions because of their power, experience, or connection with their audience. However, the goal is to find the perfect influencer for your brand to overall improve brand recognition.

World Wildlife Fund (WWF)

When it comes to preserving and fighting for environmental issues, The World Wildlife Fund comes to mind. Their mission is to save nature and decrease the numerous pressing threats to Earth’s living diversity. The organization works around these areas:

  • Food: the goal is to reduce and freeze its footprint as well as double food availability.
  • Climate: create a world powered by renewable energy that is climate-resilient and zero carbonated.
  • Freshwater: provide safe water for nature and people.
  • Wildlife: defend and guard the world’s most important species as well as endanger ones.
  • Forest: save our world’s most important forests.
  • Oceans: Keep a watchful eye on healthy oceans and free of pollution. Plus, protect marine life.

For nearly 60 years, WWF has worked incredibly hard to help people and nature flourish. As one of the leading conservation organization that has worked in almost 100 countries, the World Wildlife Fund consistently colludes with people from across the world to produce and give innovative solutions that protect wildlife, neighborhoods, and the areas in which they reside.

The Wildlife Fund currently has 3.6M followers on Instagram, which is pretty strong for a conservation organization. The account posts numerous times throughout the week and receives genuine engagement with followers. Their page features high-quality images of animals, oceans, how our actions can impact the world, and more. The page’s layout is visually pleasing to grab people’s attention.

Overall, the WWF has the right idea for presenting their mission on their social media channels. Therefore, partnering with an ideal influencer to further promote their goals and service will be a step in the right direction. Not to mentioned beneficial.

Ian Somerhalder

Ian Somerhalder is an American actor best known for his roles as Damon Salvator in The Vampire Diaries, Boone Carlyle in the Lost series, and Dr. Luther Swann in Netflix’s sci-fi horror series V Wars. However, he’s more than a talented actor — he a model, a director, and more an activist.

Ian is an avid environmentalist and an animal lover. His love for the planet and its creatures all began right from his backyard.

“Being from a state like Louisiana, especially the Gulf Coast area, where it’s an extremely delicate ecosystem, you also have a deeper understanding of wild animals and the environment because you realize how fragile that balance is,” said Somerhalder.

After the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and witnessing the destruction and the effect it has on the environment and wildlife, Somerhalder wanted to contribute and take action to make a difference. So much so, he created his foundation, named the Ian Somerhalder Foundation, to empower, teach, and cooperate with people and projects to positively change the planet and its creatures.

On his social media channels, especially Instagram, Somerhalder has 18.3M followers. He is very active on the platform and focuses on an array of essential topics to him, including his activism, bourbon creation, onset sneak peeks, and more.

Furthermore, Ian is vocal about being a part of the change to create a better future for people and future generations. For each post about environmental change, the caption is descriptive and has a call-to-action for his followers to engage and spread the word. His posts are reaching a specific audience.

Partnership

I believe The World Wildlife Fund and Ian Somerhalder partnership would be beneficial for both. Ian being an actor and having that exposure can significantly enhance the WWF mission by bringing a different audience. Those following Somerhalder on social media know he’s a serious activist whose goals are to improve the world for the better. Not to mention, it’s not his first time partnering with other organizations with similar interests, so The World Wildlife Fund knows he has experience in these areas.

As for Ian Somerhalder, having a partnership with The World Wildlife Fund gives him the chance to expand his resources and help the planet and people to find solutions to conservation challenges.
